LOOKING FOR THE BEST RESTAURANTS IN KETCHUM?
You’ve come to the right place. I’ve been visiting Ketchum, Idaho, since I was a kid, and I’ve eaten at almost every restaurant.
Ketchum is a charming mountain town nestled in the Wood River Valley. It’s know for its world-class skiing, outdoor adventures, and rich cultural scene, set against stunning mountain landscapes.
Ketchum might be a small mountain town, but its dining scene isn’t. Whether craving a cozy lunch spot or a lively dinner venue, there’s an establishment to satisfy your palate!
This is your guide to Ketchum restaurants.
BEST RESTAURANTS FOR CASUAL DINING
One of my favorite things about Ketchum is its casualness. It doesn’t exude a stuck-up vibe that other mountain towns are prone to. When I say casual, I mean you can show up in ski boots, golf attire, hiking gear, and even fishing waders.
That being said, there are some fabulous casual restaurants around town to accommodate whatever outdoor activity you just came from.
Here are the five best casual Ketchum restaurants:
#1 PIONEER SALOON
- Opening Hours: The bar opens at 3:30 pm, and the dining room at 5:00 pm – 9:30 pm, daily
- Menu: American Steakhouse
- Recommended Dish: Prime Rib
- Average Entrée Price: $25 – $40
- Reservations: not available
- Location: 320 N Main St, Ketchum
“If you haven’t been to the Pioneer Saloon, you haven’t been to Ketchum.” If its slogan doesn’t give it away as the most iconic establishment in town, I don’t know what will. Established in the 1960’s, ‘Pio” is known for its eclectic Western vibe, margaritas, and prime rib.
The Pioneer offers a diverse menu with a strong emphasis on steaks and prime rib. Appetizers include jumbo steamed artichoke, shrimp cocktail, and smoked rainbow trout. For main courses, enjoy a variety of grilled steaks, seafood options like salmon and lobster tail, as well as comfort food favorites like barbecue beef ribs and grilled chicken.
Local Tip: It can get crowded during ski season, but if you get there early, you shouldn’t have a problem getting seated.
#2 VILLAGE STATION
- Opening Hours: 3 pm – 9 pm, daily
- Menu: American
- Recommended Dish: All American Cheeseburger
- Average Entrée Price: $15 – $25
- Reservations: not available
- Location: 1 Sun Valley Rd, Sun Valley
Village Station at Sun Valley Mall is the perfect laid-back spot to hang out. They open at 3pm daily, and conveniently, that’s when their Happy Hour starts.

Local Tip: In the summer, it’s our favorite pet-friendly place to enjoy happy hour on their large dining patio.
Village Station’s food menu features classic American favorites, including burgers, loaded pizzas, and fresh salads. You’ll also find hearty sandwiches and tasty appetizers like wings and nachos. Their drink menu has a great selection of local beers, classic cocktails, and refreshing wine options.
Another great thing about Village Station, if you aren’t in the mood to dine in, you can order online.
#3 GRUMPYS
- Opening Hours: 11 am – 9 pm, daily
- Menu: American
- Recommended Dish: 1/4 LB Cheeseburger
- Average Entrée Price: $12
- Reservations: not available
- Location: 860 Warm Springs Rd, Ketchum, ID 83340
We never miss Grumpy’s when we come to town. Grumpy’s is “Home of the best damn burgers in town!” It’s a beloved local spot known for its relaxed atmosphere, burgers (duh), and the schooner!
Yep, that’s 32 ounces of beer in that goblet. Brace yourself because they also offer a schooner mimosa! You will need a nap after lunching here.

The menu isn’t complicated, but it doesn’t have to be. This is a burger and fries joint. We typically each order a burger and get a few fries for the table to share.
The indoor area is small, so seating is limited, especially in the winter. In the summer, they have a large patio area that is pet-friendly. Servers do not come around, so if you want food or a drink refill, you’ll have to go inside or to their patio bar, if open.
#4 BIGWOOD BREAD
- Opening Hours: 8 am – 2:30 pm, daily
- Menu: American
- Recommended Dish: Roast Turkey Sandwich
- Average Entrée Price: $10 – $20
- Reservations: not available
- Location: 271 Northwood Wy, Ketchum, ID 83340
Bigwood Bread is hands down my favorite spot in Ketchum. In the winter, the cozy vibe with the crackling fireplace is just perfect, and in the summer, their large pet-friendly patio is a go-to for enjoying some sunshine and a glass of wine. If you’re in the mood for a drink, they’ve got a great selection of wines and local beers.
Local Tip: Lunch can get crowded, however, they do offer online ordering.
They’ve got a killer lunch menu with fresh sandwiches on artisanal bread, crisp salads, and hearty soups. Whether you’re in the mood for turkey, ham, or a veggie sandwich, they’ve got you covered, plus daily specials that use seasonal ingredients. Their breakfast menu is also top-notch.
#5 KONDITOREI RESTAURANT
- Opening Hours: 7 am – 3 pm, daily
- Menu: Austrian
- Recommended Dish: Pork Schnitzel Sandwich
- Average Entrée Price: $20 – $30
- Reservations: not available
- Location: 1 Sun Valley Rd, Sun Valley
The Konditorei is the most charming café and bakery in Ketchum. Located in the Sun Valley Mall, it resembles an authentic Austrian pastry shop with its cozy atmosphere and selection of cookies, cakes, and breakfast items.
Local Tip: If you’re skiing Dollar Mountain, this is an excellent lunch alternative to The Lodge. We like to hop on the free bus and enjoy a fresh sandwich, hearty salad, or breakfast item available all day.

Konditorei’s Austrian-inspired menu has options for both light bites and heartier meals, including items like schnitzel, goulash, and pastries. They also serve a variety of sandwiches, salads, and brunch specialties.
They offer a great selection of drinks, including local beers, wines ($13 to $15 per drink), and even a mimosa flight! Their coffee and espresso drinks pair perfectly with a sweet treat—ideal for a cozy break before hitting the slopes again.

Ketchum’s fine dining scene combines great food with laid-back mountain vibes. Whether you’re celebrating something special or just in the mood to treat yourself, you can’t go wrong with these options.
Here are the three best Ketchum restaurant fine dining options:

Michel’s Christiania is our family’s go-to spot for a special night out in Ketchum. This cozy, upscale restaurant downtown is renowned for its exquisite French-inspired cuisine, featuring fresh, local ingredients in both classic and contemporary dishes.
Local Tip: Actors like Clint Eastwood and Arnold Schwarzenegger are known to stop by.
Their menu includes standout seafood, tender meats, and vegetarian options, with must-try items like their signature mac and cheese and a dirty martini with blue cheese-stuffed olives. It’s a bit on the pricier side, but absolutely worth it!
#7 VINTAGE
- Opening Hours: Lunch – 11:30 am – 2:30 pm, Mon – Fri., Dinner – 5:30 pm – 9 pm, daily

Vintage, right in the heart of Ketchum, is an incredibly charming spot tucked inside a historic cabin. The menu’s not huge, but it’s all about quality, with a rotating lineup of seasonal dishes like seafood, poultry, beef, and duck.
The drink menu at Vintage in Ketchum focuses on curated wines and select cocktails, complementing its intimate, high-end dining atmosphere. Expect to pay $13 – $15 for a cocktail.

#8 ENOTECA
- Opening Hours: 5 pm with last seatings at 9:00 – 9:30 pm, daily
- Menu: Italian
- Recommended Dish: Asiago Pesto Meatballs
- Average Entrée Price: $20 – $40
- Reservation: Recommended
- Location: 300 N Main St, Ketchum
Enoteca has quickly become one of my go-to spots in Ketchum. This stylish wine bar just off Main Street exudes a cozy yet refined atmosphere, making it perfect for a relaxed dinner. During my recent trip in March 2024, I enjoyed it so much I went twice!
Local Tip: The location is right in the heart of town, making it easy to continue the night. After dinner, try heading over to the Pioneer Saloon or TNT Taproom for a post-dinner drink to keep the evening going.
Their wine list is impressive, with selections from around the globe, offering plenty of options to pair with their menu. We sampled new reds alongside wood-fired pizzas and fresh pasta, and I highly recommend both the Wine Auction pizza and Asiago-Pesto Meatballs! Their small plates are also ideal for sharing, adding to the social, laid-back vibe.
BEST KETCHUM RESTAURANTS WITH A VIEW
Whether visiting in the winter or summer, you’ll be surrounded by stunning alpine views. Naturally, Ketchum has restaurants that allow you to take them in while enjoying culinary delights and refreshments.
Here are the three best Ketchum restaurants with views:

#9 ROUNDHOUSE
- Opening Hours: Season hours observed, learn more here
- Menu: American
- Recommended Dish: Fondue for Two
- Average Entrée Price: $25 – $45
- Reservation: Recommended
- Location: Bald Mountain, NF-135, Ketchum
Tucked away at 7,700 feet on Bald Mountain, Roundhouse is one of the most remarkable restaurants I’ve visited. The breathtaking views and delicious dishes make the journey up absolutely worthwhile.
To get there, hop on the Sun Valley Resort’s scenic lift, which takes you up the mountain. Once the gondola ride concludes, it’s just a short walk up the stairs to the restaurant.

The menu features a blend of American and European cuisine, including Fondue for Two, a smorgasbord, and a selection of sandwiches and mains.

Keep in mind that Roundhouse tends to get more crowded during ski season. In winter, there are three dining areas: a bar at the front, the main dining space, and a smaller area downstairs. For the best experience, head to the downstairs area, where you can enjoy the must-try Fondue for Two, sip on a bubbly drink, and take in the best view in Ketchum.

Local Tip: In the summer, your lift ticket includes access to a second chair that takes you to the top of the mountain. It’s a fantastic way to spend the afternoon, offering stunning views and plenty of opportunities for photography.

#10 DUCHIN LOUNGE
- Opening Hours: 11 am – 11 pm, daily
- Menu: American
- Recommended Dish: The Rachel
- Average Entrée Price: $20 – $35
- Reservation : not required
- Location: 1 Sun Valley Rd, Sun Valley
The Duchin Lounge at Sun Valley Resort is one of my favorite places to kick back after a day of fun in the mountain and to enjoy and Aperol Spritz.
The restaurant has more than just beautiful Bald Mountain views, but also offers a unique experience: an ice show. While you’re eating, you get a front-row seat to skaters gliding by, and if you’re lucky, some Olympians might even join in. In winter, the patio stays cozy with heat lamps, so you can still enjoy the view without freezing.

The Duchin Room menu combines classic comfort food with seasonal dishes. For brunch, you can’t go wrong with their fluffy pancakes or eggs Benedict. For lunch or dinner, they serve everything from gourmet burgers and fresh salads to hearty sandwiches and daily specials.
Their drink menu is equally impressive, offering a selection of wines, craft beers, and fun cocktails. Plus, there’s often live music, so be sure to check their events calendar. Whether it’s summer or winter, the Duchin Room is the perfect spot to enjoy great food, chill vibes, and stunning views!
